The sell out hit of the 2005 Melbourne International Arts Festival returns to Melbourne before taking on the world.

Back to Back Theatre is driven by an ensemble of five actors considered to have intellectual disabilities. Here, they use their award-winning ability to explore how respect is withheld from outsiders – the disabled  or unemployed – who society deems ‘unproductive’.

Set against the shifting backdrop of the CBD at peak hour, small metal objects unfolds amid the bustling pedestrian traffic of Melbourne’s Federation Square. With individual sets of headphones, the audience is wired in to an intensely personal drama being played out somewhere in the crowd.
