The Rawcus ensemble perform a joyous celebration of exuberance and connection.
Here We Are Amongst You is a secular prayer for our times. It is a raw and exuberant gathering hosted by the renowned Rawcus ensemble.
The work is performed in the round, as performers move in all directions to create encounters that are different from every perspective. No two audience members will share the same experience, but everyone will be part of the warmth and welcome that underscores the work.
This is artistic director Kate Sulan’s final show with Rawcus. Come and witness the Rawcus ensemble’s unique practice, in which many individuals contribute choreography to spellbinding effect.
Here We Are Amongst You is an invitation to celebrate connection, belonging, and being together.
Experience this rich and restorative world, as fleeting as it is resonant.
“world class theatre – sumptuously imagined, visually stunning and profoundly moving” – The Age
“work that that leaves you feeling charged and changed” – The Age
“For over a decade, Rawcus Ensemble has been quietly redefining the possible for artists with a disability. Under artistic director Kate Sulan, the company has built up a body of work of sculptural delicacy and concentrated presence.” – The Age

Ensemble Statement
It is about performing, expanding the world, transforming.
It is about vulnerability, creativity, openness and relationships.
We all come from different backgrounds and we all have different experiences. We play and work together.
We bring love to the work and that love is returned to us when we share what we do.
Rawcus is about achieving something together, about commitment, challenge and making space for unexpected things to happen.
Long story short…that is the force of Rawcus.

Image description: 12 diverse performers are captured in various stages of exuberant dancing. They are all wearing different coloured and textured clothing against a black background. There is a feeling of laughter and connection. In the foreground there are four performers; one is looking sideways as if to catch attention from someone next to him; the second performer has her arm above her head, her eyes closed and laughter on her face, the third performer is in mid leap with her hair spreading out and a smile on her face, the fourth performer is focused and still, with eyes cast downwards. Behind them are other bodies dancing that are obscured by the four foregrounded performers.
