We’re looking for a design and social media superstar to join our team in the role of Audience Engagement Coordinator. 

Under the direction of the Marketing Manager, the Audience Engagement Coordinator supports the development and delivery of marketing and communications activity to maximise awareness and engagement with City of Melbourne’s Creative Programs (ArtPlay, Signal and Arts House), with a particular focus on content creation, design and social media channels. 

About the Role:

City of Melbourne is currently looking for an enthusiastic and passionate Audience Engagement Coordinator with expertise in design and social media to join our dynamic team. Supporting the Arts House and wider Creative Programs teams and under the direction of the Marketing Manager, you will play a crucial role in maximising awareness and engagement through innovative design and strategic use of social media channels. Your responsibilities will include developing and implementing marketing plans, creating compelling content for various platforms, managing social media activity and performance, and attracting new audiences to our exciting programs.

In this exciting role, you will oversee the creation, production and distribution of marketing materials, coordinate with external agencies, and ensure the seamless execution of campaigns. You’ll collaborate with the wider City of Melbourne marketing and communications teams to promote our programs, and work closely with artists, presenting companies, and partner organisations to deliver impactful campaigns. Additionally, you will assist with campaign and financial reporting, contributing to the overall success of our marketing efforts.

What you will bring to the role:

  • Demonstrated experience managing social media platforms in a professional context, including content creation and optimising account performance
  • Demonstrated experience with Adobe Creative Cloud, with particular focus on Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to adapt complex concepts into compelling copy and content
  • Experience implementing high quality marketing and communications activities in the arts industry
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the proven ability to work with a range of internal and external stakeholders across a variety of projects
  • Strong problem solving and administrative skills coupled with the ability to manage a range of projects simultaneously and to deliver agreed outcomes within tight timeframes
  • Proficiency in using content management systems like WordPress and a basic knowledge of HTML and web publishing is desirable
