Artist Meagan Streader’s work pushes the limits of light within sculpture and installation. Her latest series of site-specific sculptural installations, Echoes, responds to three-dimensional space through playful architectural interventions that aim to reimagine space through illumination.
Echoes responds to the Arts House building through reflections of the space and architecture. Creating fantastical spaces and futuristic settings, Echoes takes over familiar areas of Arts House and redefines them as artificial settings. Abandon your ideas of the physical building and see Arts House with fresh eyes.
Echoes is part of Spectral, a one-week season with leading artists Robin Fox, Hanna Chetwin, Jannah Quill, Kusum Normoyle and Meagan Streader exploring the interface between sound and light. Exhibitions by Robin Fox and Meagan Streader culminate in a special two-night season of performances featuring works never seen before in Melbourne alongside new commissions.
